paper/print: bruises

on going series

2019

bruises occupy an interesting temporal space: in response to being touched, they call back to a known or unknown moment of previous impact, while still relating to the now. we also understand that a bruise will fade, so while present, the ever shifting palette and size calls to an inevitable healing and completion.

these prints were made using multiple drypoint plates, registered together and printed on a fine Japanese paper which mimicked skin, prior to being mounted in the process of chine colle.
